Congrats to Auro Sosi & Caitlin Lokeni

Utah Pacific Islander Chamber of Commerce recognizes West Jordan High School educator and student

On April 2, 2025, at the annual Utah Pacific Islander Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Awards dinner, Mr. Auro Sosi and Ms. Caitlin Lokeni were celebrated for their accomplishments.

West Jordan High School's very own Auro Sosi was the inaugural recipient of the Emeline Matua Toalepai Educator of the Year award recognizing the significant positive contribution and impact he continues to have in the Pacific Islander community.  Mr. Sosi has a positive influence as an educator, not only in his position as the instructor of People of the Pacific class, but also for his role as a mentor to all students at West Jordan High School. As an active participant in the Pacific Islander community in Utah, Mr. Sosi is beloved, trusted and respected by the youth and their families.

At the same awards dinner, Ms. Caitlin Lokeni was honored with a $2,000 scholarship from UPIC. Ms. Lokeni was recognized for her academic accomplishments, as well as her leadership roles in Girls Volleyball, Girls Basketball and in the People of the Pacific class. She plans to use the scholarship funds to pursue a degree in Architecture.

We are grateful for Auro Sosi and Caitlin Lokeni for all of their positive contributions to our school and very proud of both of them.
